Guardians of Ga'Hoole: Part II

Hi!!! The second book, The Journey, is about Soren, Gylfie, Twilight, and Digger's journey to the great Ga'Hoole tree. When they land(I forgot where) the group finds Ms. Plithiver, who was Soren's nest maid snake. Nest maids are rosy-pink scaled blind snakes. They are known for their sensory skills, like their 6 sense. They think owls dignified because they warp instead of being a "wet pooper" like seagulls. They are the worst of the wet poopers, even though seagulls love wet poop jokes. Then the group continues into the Beaks. There are flecks stored inside of the landforms that look like beaks. The band forgets that they are supposed to be journeying on to Ga'Hoole until Ms. P. shouts at them because she feels a bad gut feeling in the Beaks. The band leaves, but is caught in a williwaw which is a quick, unexpected wind. This carries the owls up to the Northern Kingdoms, the Ice Narrows, and the band meets a puffin family who give them directions to the Ga'Hoole tree. As they fly through a blizzard, Soren realizes that as he flies beneath the others to hear any signs of the tree (barn owls are known for their hearing abilities), that the others might have bee drawn towards the Beaks. He worries because he is the leader of the band. The owls get close to the tree when the king or queen, Boren or Barren, leads them to the tree. Once there, the owls must be selected into chaws. Chaws are groups of owls that learn a certain thing. There are these chaws:
Navigation with the ryb (teacher) Strix Struma: Gylfie
Tracking and navigation: Twilight and Digger
Colliering (fire carrying) and weather interpretation with Ezylryb: Soren, Outlissa (a snotty stuck-up, know-it-all spotted owl who adores all of the Strixs and any owl from an acient lineage), Martin (a Northern Saw-whet owl rescued from a forest fire in Silverveil), and Ruby (a short eared owl named for her ruby-colored feathers, who is the best flier and great at catching airborne embers.)

I'll post soon!!!!!!!!!

Sorry I have not posted! My favorite book of all time is the Guardians of Ga'Hoole series. I'm on book 5, (just finished it). I almost cried when I could not read one! In the first book, The Capture, Soren , a barn owl, is captured from his nest when his evil brother Kludd, pushes him out of the nest. St. Aggie's captures him. St. Aggie's is an "academy for owls". The patrol guards take him from the Forest kingdom of Tyto and meet up with others at the intersection of 4 kingdoms; Ambala, Desert of Kuneer, The Beaks, and the Forest Kingdom of Tyto. There is where Soren meets Gylfie. She is an elf owl from the Desert of Kuneer. The recruits are flown to St. Aggie's in the canyons. The owls at St. Ag's moonblink them (a process in which an owl falls asleep in the moon's full shine and forgets himself) and are told to pick fro flecks (magnetic and harmful bits of iron). The owls at St. Ag's are very stupid. Soren and Gylfie wait until their wings grow and then escape St. Ag's. When they begin their journey to the Guardian's tree, on the island of Ga'Hoole across the sea of Hoolemeere, they meet Twilight, a battle loving great grey who helps the other two by seeing the dark edges of the twilight light. Then they meet Digger, whose family had been eaten and killed by St. Aggie's troops. He joins their band too. I'm going to post each book on a different post.

Kirsten

Hello! I was reading A Runaway Friend, a Kirsten (an American Girl) story. It is about Kirsten's friend running away when in debt. Kirsten tries to find out why he left. Kirsten knew that if he took his father's marbles, then he had gone for good. When Kirsten went to check his cabin, she found the marbles, and a mysterious picture of a woman. Who was this woman? Was she Erik's sister?

I'll post on this book some more!!!!!!!!! Check later to find out the cliffhanger. Guess; what do you think will happen next? Who do you think she is? Bye!

Boston Jane by Jennifer Holm

Hi guys! Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while. I have just finished the second book of The Boston Jane series. (I didn't read the first one.) Jane moves from Philadelphia because the man that she likes is moving out to Shoalwater Bay in Washington. He ends up marrying another woman, so she lives in Washington. At first, she hates it. She is the only girl that lives on the bay, and Jane has to live in a flea-invested cabin with a bunch of dirty men. One day she decides to take her first hot bath in months. When she is all ready and coming out of the cabin and she sees some men standing around her bath. Mr. Russel, the person that owns the cabin and forces her to do all of the mens' laundry and mend everything, says,"We thought that since you won't wash our shirts, we thought that we should do our laundry." Jane yelled at them and then left. One day, Jane decides to go back to Pennsylvania. When she is going around saying her goodbyes, she stops at a man's house. He has his leg broken, so he is in bed. He tells her about the silencers, who were famous fur trappers. Mr. Russel was among them, and a man that had come to Jane's cabin. Then he tells that Mr. Abe Black, the man that came to Jane's house, killed every single one of the silencers, except Mr. Russel because he was seeking revenge for being left to die on the ground. The silencers didn't leave him to die-they left him there because they thought Abe was dead. Jane had told Abe where Mr. Russel was, and Jane was worrying. Two men there, a Chinook man and a young man that Jane liked, not the one she came out west for though, were there working on the roof. They immediately took a canoe and provisions and walked down to the beach. Then , Jane decided to go with the men. they go up to where Mr. Russel is. Jane is called to fetch Mr. Russel, and she sees Abe pointing his gun at Mr. Russel. She quickly goes between them, and says that Abe should never kill Mr. Russel, and how good Russel is, (even though she wants to say how filthy he is!) and Abe lowers his gun. Just when Jane is at a loss for words, Jehu, the man that she likes that traveled with her to find Russel, and other men, all have their guns pointed at Abe, and Abe goes to jail. It ends up that Jehu buys Jane her own land, and they get married.

The Fairies of NutFolk Woods

Hello!I know I haven't posted in a long time. I am still reading Little Women, but I'm in the second part! Beth recovered from scarlet fever, but she is always going to be a little sick.

MEG HAS GOTTEN MARRIED!!! Meg just had a wedding. It wasn't a fancy wedding, just one with all of their friends. Meg married John Brooke, Laurie's tutor, who got a tiny house for them, but it is beautiful.

Amy is sixteen, and I am reading about what art she had done. She had done plaster and clay, sketching, crayon drawings, and even more!

Can't wait to post more!
